Saint Joseph School: A Legacy Worth Renewing
Since opening its doors in 1937, Saint Joseph School has been a cornerstone of faith-based education in our community. Over the years, repairs have been made to keep the school operational, but it has never undergone a comprehensive renovation. As one parishioner recently put it, “The school is tired.”
Unlike public schools—funded by our tax dollars to cover maintenance, salaries, equipment, and utilities—Catholic schools receive no such government support. Parents who choose Catholic education for their children must pay tuition while still shouldering the tax burden that supports public schools for others.
This double obligation is a heavy one.
Our mission is not only to raise funds to rehabilitate the aging school building, but to ensure that families can afford a Saint Joseph education—one that includes modern technology and learning tools that place our students on equal footing with their public school peers.
But we cannot do this alone. We need your help.
In the Gospel of Mark (12:41–44), Jesus praises the widow who gave two small coins—worth only a penny—to the temple treasury. While the wealthy gave large sums with public display, Jesus told His disciples, “This poor widow has put in more than all the others… she, out of her poverty, has put in everything she had.”
The phrase “Give until it hurts” isn’t just for athletes—it’s a call to sacrificial generosity for the things that matter most: our faith, our children, and our future.
Please give what you can. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference.
